About Us
The Health Careers High School Latin Club was founded in 1987 by Ms. Jill Nelson with fewer than 20 members. After that inaugural year, Mr. Clyde Lehmann inherited the club and guided it for 28 years, expanding its membership to over 100 members and establishing it among the very best in Texas and the entire country. Under the current stewardship of Kenny Van Eimeren and John Chu, the legacy of excellence of HCHS Latin is unprecedented in Texas JCL history, with countless individual and team awards, including 20 state championships over nearly four decades. The heart of this program, however, is the community of capable, compassionate, and supportive students who share a common passion for Classics. The memories they make, the friendships they form, and the lessons they learn go way beyond any ribbon or trophy. Once a member, always a member!
