Dear Latin Club families,

With the Area convention less than two days away on Saturday, March 1, we wanted to share a few final updates and reminders.

1. Our Latin Club Area Crunch Time is from 4:30 to 8:30 PM this Friday evening. Students will practice the spirit cheer, showcase their art and performances, play some games, and do a last-minute study session with their categories. We will have pizza for sale for a dollar a slice, or you can bring your own food, of course.  This is a great opportunity for members to get "locked in" before Saturday's events.

2. The next day, Saturday, March 1, is Area Convention, which will take place at St. Mary's Hall. This big packet of information contains the schedule, the map, info about what to wear and bring, and the parking pass you will need to have on your dashboard to drop off and pick up your student, among other things. Please read it. There is also a permission slip which students must turn in by the end of Friday in order to participate.  N.B. Students, our Latin Club shirts are delayed :( but in the spirit of unity, please wear green, if you have it.

Please drop your kids off at 7:45 Saturday morning (we'll gather at the dining hall), and the award ceremony should finish around 6:30 for you to pick your kid up. If they need to leave before then, we just ask that the students text us their teachers on Remind to let us know they're leaving.

4. The turnaround for the State Convention registration deadline is still short, but the hosts recently announced an extension to our deadline.  That means...

After Area, if your child is definitely going to State in Houston on April 4-5 (which they don't have to qualify for, all students can attend) they will need to fill out this State registration Google form AND turn in their money ($140 for registration, meals, and hotels) by next Friday, March 7. Please read through this updated section of the packet for further details.

5. Students, please attend our Wednesday meeting after Area on March 5.  In addition to celebrating your accomplishments at Area, we will share information about State registration.
